WPH Foot & Ankle Surgical Residency welcomes the incoming 1st year residents: Stephen Alayli, Christopher Betrus, Geoffrey Cady and Elizabeth Parry. So glad to have them join our family.

My name is Stephen Alayli and I was born and raised in the south hills of Pittsburgh. I am excited to be back in Pittsburgh to complete my residency training. I attended Washington and Jefferson College where I majored in Biology. I then attended the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, OH. My personal interests include spending time with my fiancé Rachel as well as family and friends. I enjoy watching the Steelers, and became a Cavaliers fan during my time in Cleveland. I am an avid car enthusiast, and I attend as many local events as I can. My ultimate career goal is to have the skills and knowledge to help patients live a more enjoyable lifestyle.

MyBtrus name is Chris Betrus.   I am from Belleville, MI, where I was raised in a busy, loving home with my younger brother. After graduating from The University of Michigan with a BS in Biology, I joined Teach for America, where I spent three years in Chicago, teaching high school Biology. Following my teaching commitment, I held research positions at Wayne State University School of Medicine and Georgetown University Hospital, before attending Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine where I received my Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine.  I am incredibly excited to be joining the Foot & Ankle Team at West Penn, and look forward to developing the skills necessary to be a competent, compassionate surgeon. In my free time, I enjoy distance cycling, a good round of golf, experimenting with a new recipe, and exploring Pittsburgh with my girlfriend, Andrea. I am also an avid Michigan Wolverine fan, and love attending football and basketball games with his friends and family. Go Blue!

CadyMy name is Geoff Cady and I am a new 1st year Foot & Ankle Surgery resident at West Penn Hospital. I was born in Saginaw, MI and lived in Lapeer, MI from the time I was 3 years old until I left for college. I attended the University of Michigan for my undergraduate education where I majored in Cellular and Molecular Biology. After undergrad I worked at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI where I was a research assistant in the Department of Physiology. In the Fall of 2013 I enrolled at Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. Some of my hobbies include  running, skiing, pheasant hunting, and cooking. I love getting together with friends to watch sports. I am a huge Michigan Football and Detroit Lions fan, and some of my earliest memories are tailgating with my family before the games. Some of my future goals include having a busy surgical practice and helping to train future residents. I am thrilled to be a part of the West Penn Family!

ParryMy name is Elizabeth Parry. I was born and raised in Grosse Pointe, a suburb outside of Detroit, Michigan. I attended University of Dayton, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in English in 2011. I began my journey to become a foot and ankle surgeon at the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in North Chicago, Illinois. I married my best friend and love of my life, Scott, in 2017. In my free time, I enjoy running, reading, and yoga. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to join the West Penn Foot and Ankle Institute family, and learn from the distinguished foot and surgeons here.
