Intent & Objectives

Attendees will develop a comprehensive understanding of “state-of-the-art” principles and techniques of foot and ankle surgery. Attendees will understand principles of managing complications and limb-salvage.

Attendees will understand the use and application of emerging techniques involving orthobiologics, arthroscopy, endoscopy, total ankle replacement, intramedullary fixation, external fixation, and cartilage replacement.

Attendees will understand new concepts and techniques utilized in the management of complex diabetic lower extremity problems such as Charcot, ankle fractures, osteomyelitis and significant soft tissue deficits.

Attendees will understand the management of foot and ankle trauma including ankle fractures, calcaneal fractures, forefoot fractures, ankle sprains and osteochondral lesions of the talus.

Who Should Attend

Foot & Ankle Surgeons, Podiatrists, Orthopedic Surgeons and other health care providers involved in the clinical and surgical management of the foot and ankle.

How Many CME Credits Are Offered

Each 4-hour lecture provides participants with 4 CME credit hours.

The Council on Podiatric Medical Education has officially recognized the Western Pennsylvania Hospital as a certified provider of continuing education in podiatric medicine. This offering has received approval from the Western Pennsylvania Hospital for a total of four contact hours of continuing education.

Are Lectures Held Virtually or In-Person

All Scott Alter, DPM Lectures are held virtually via the Zoom platform.

Cancellation Policy Details

To receive a full refund, submit your cancellation request to Debbie Hoffman at [email protected] at least 15 days prior to your scheduled lecture date. If we do not receive your notice, a $10 cancellation fee will be charged.

When Will I Receive the CME Certificate

You will receive your CME certificate via email from Debbie Hoffman, Residency Program Coordinator, within one week after the lecture. If your certificate has not arrived, please contact Debbie for assistance.
