My name is Jackie Williams, and I’m from Northern New York! I was raised in a family of healthcare professionals who exposed me to the importance of helping others from a young age. I grew up watching how our profession changed lives for the better, helping people return to a better quality of life.
I studied Exercise and Sport Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I also played lacrosse. Personal sports injuries only deepened my desire to help others and pursue my goal of restoring individuals’ function. I followed in my mom’s footsteps by attending Des Moines University’s College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, IA. During my medical education, I earned numerous scholarships, served on several podiatric boards as Vice President and Treasurer, and remained active in the lacrosse community by coaching and officiating high school girls’ lacrosse.
When searching for a residency, it was clear to me that West Penn is a special place with fantastic people. Not only do patients receive the highest quality care with up-to-date practices, but the compassion and dedication to creating individualized, patient-centered treatment plans make the staff truly exceptional. I have no doubt that I will grow into the best surgeon, clinician, and version of myself during my time here.
Go Heels!
