Meet the individuals who serve on the WPFAS board. Their strong leadership and invaluable guidance plays a vital role in the Society success.

Dan Shadrick, DPM, FACFAS

Dan Shadrick, DPM, FACFAS

President | WPFAS

Class of 2011. Dr. Shadrick is a Foot & Ankle Surgeon in North Denver. He is a Wyoming native and has roots along the Rocky Mountain region. Dr. Shadrick completed a 3-year surgical residency at Western Pennsylvania Hospital Foot & Ankle Residency program, graduating in 2011 as chief resident. Prior to his surgical residency, he received his doctor of podiatric medicine degree from Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine & Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Shadrick is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and is board certified in Foot Surgery, as well as Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery. His training is broad and encompasses all aspects of foot and ankle medicine and surgery. Dr. Shadrick has received extensive training in foot and ankle trauma, reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle, as well as diabetic limb salvage. He has extensive training in deformity correction, Total Ankle replacement, and external fixation modalities.

Jordan Grossman, DPM, FACFAS

Jordan Grossman, DPM, FACFAS

IMMEDIATE PAST-President | WPFAS

Class of 1996. Dr. Grossman was born and raised in Washington, Pennsylvania. He earned his podiatric medical degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, followed by a podiatric surgical residency at the Podiatry Hospital of Pittsburgh and fellowships at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh and at The University of Ulm, Germany. Dr. Grossman is board certified in both foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He serves as faculty for the Orthopaedic Residency Program at Akron General Medical Center and the Podiatric Surgical Residency Program at Kaiser Permanente/Cleveland Clinic, the clinical assistant professor of podiatry in orthopaedic surgery at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and is Chief, Section of Podiatry at Akron General Medical Center and St. Thomas Hospital/Summa Health System.

Brian Neerings, DPM, FACFAS

Class of 2015. Dr. Brian Neerings is a native of southern California, but he claims Arizona as his home. He married his wife in 1995, and they have two teenage sons. In 2013, he moved to Georgia and joined Kaiser Permanente. He and his family enjoy the outdoors. In their free time, they support our son in his running endeavors and they have been exploring the North Georgia Mountains and trails. Dr. Neerings has always enjoyed working with people and developing skills to help others, which is why the medical profession has been a good career path for him.

Class of 2014. Dr. Matthew Hentges is a foot & ankle surgeon in Pittsburgh, PA. He was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN. He received his undergraduate education at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN. He then attended Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine & Surgery. Dr. Hentges completed a 3-year surgical residency at Western Pennsylvania Hospital Foot & Ankle Residency Program graduating in 2014. He then received fellowship training from Dr. Bradley Lamm at the International Center for Limb Lengthening at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Hentges is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and is board certified in foot surgery as well as reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery.

Class of 2014. Dr. Brian Dix, a board certified foot and reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgeon at Avera Medical Group Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Sioux Falls, SD, offers expertise in the surgical treatment of a variety of foot and ankle conditions – for all ages – due to injury, trauma, deformity, or conditions such as arthritis, ankle instability, bunions, flatfoot, high arch feet, and more. As a young athlete, Dr. Dix experienced foot problems from sports injuries, including many sprained ankles. After seeing the benefits of working with a podiatrist first hand and shadowing a podiatrist during high school, he was inspired to become a podiatrist who also offers sports medicine services. 

Keith McSpadden, DPM, FACFAS

Class of 2012. Dr. McSpadden founded North Austin Foot & Ankle Institute to provide our greater Austin community with first-rate, results-based solutions for all your foot and ankle concerns. Some areas of podiatry he particularly enjoys include ankle arthroscopy, flatfoot correction, bunion correction, ankle stabilization, and treatment of heel pain, including Achilles tendon disorders. Accordingly, he strives to fully understand your unique personal situations, concerns, and goals to provide the best possible treatment plan for you and your loved ones. Outside of the office, Dr. McSpadden loves spending time with his wife and three daughters, and being active in their church family. He also enjoys cooking, gardening, water activities, and all sports (especially for Texas A&M!). 

Alan Catanzariti, DPM, FACFAS

RESIDENCY DIRECTOR & PERMANENT MEMBER | WPH, WPFAS

Class of 1986. Dr. Alan Catanzariti is a highly skilled foot and ankle surgeon. He serves as the Program Director for the foot and ankle surgical residency training program at West Penn Hospital. He has been intimately involved in residency education and research throughout his career. His research has been published in various peer-reviewed journals and he frequently serves as a faculty member at various conferences and seminars dealing with foot and ankle surgery. He is certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle surgery and has been involved with the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons throughout his career. 

Kelsey Lee

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR | WPFAS

Kelsey lives in Johnston, Iowa. Before joining WPFAS, she worked as an independent marketing consultant with a strong background in both marketing and healthcare. Since 2021, Kelsey’s had a pivotal role in enhancing the Society’s marketing strategies, spearheading initiatives such as revamping the website, logo rebranding, social media and email marketing, and more. Now, Kelsey is thrilled to take on the role of Executive Director. She strongly believes in the Society’s mission/vision and its esteemed Alumni members. She’s excited to grow corporate partnerships, alumni engagement, fundraising initiatives, and continued marketing efforts. Kelsey is a devoted wife and mother and is passionate about her faith. She adores her Bernadoodle, Bettis, and enjoys spending time with loved ones, traveling, and rooting for the Steelers.

Debbie Hoffman is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is the Residency Coordinator at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh. Debbie performed many of the administrative and clerical duties for the Society, but now focuses solely on the Foot & Ankle Residency Program and its many moving parts. Debbie’s loyalty and support over the years is deeply appreciated.
