First-Annual AHN Research Retreat

Retreat Overview

Nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, advanced practice providers, medical students, residents, fellows, and attending physicians can keep up with the latest advances in research opportunities, as well as share our projects, results and capabilities. You will have the opportunity to interact with fellow investigators, administrative leaders, and staff to learn more about the research infrastructure and resources available.

Oral Presentation Competition (10 AM–12 PM)

The categories include original research and Quality Improvement projects. Each person will have ten minutes to present, which includes two minutes for questions and answers. The presentations will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Clinical relevance
  • Quality of the study design.
  • Thoroughness of the investigation
  • Presentation clarity
  • Was the research accepted and/or published in a peer-reviewed journal?

Poster Presentation Competition (12–1 PM)

Posters will be displayed in the Exhibit Center during lunch. Judges will visit each poster. The posters will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Clinical relevance
  • Poster presentation clarity
  • Was the case report accepted and/or published in a peer-reviewed journal?

Competition Awards (1 PM)

Top prizes for the first-place winners include a fully paid trip (including flight, hotel, and registration) to a National Conference of your choice.

CME Accreditation

Allegheny General Hospital is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Credits to be determined.
