BIO

My name is Michael Huther, and I was born and raised in Jasper, Indiana. While in high school I started my first job in healthcare working as a CNA at a local nursing facility. The joy I received from this job led me to pursue healthcare in my undergraduate studies at the University of Southern Indiana. While attending college I worked in many areas of healthcare including the emergency department, surgery, mental health, and cardiac stress testing. During this time, I met my amazing wife, Becca who is a wound nurse. Through the stories she shared, I became interested in podiatry. I began shadowing with local podiatrists and loved the freedom and growth the field offered.

I am currently finishing my medical education at Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery and am excited to graduate in June, 2023. My hard work and dedication paid off as I am on the research track, earned several scholarships, and was selected to be a teaching assistant for the surgical course. However, I couldn’t have done any of this without the encouragement and support of my wife and two children.

Over the past year I have had the privilege to learn from some of the most talented providers in our field. Of those providers, Dr. Catanzariti, Dr. Saltrick, Dr. Hentges, and Dr. McMillen stood out far above the rest. I’m thrilled to begin my residency training this July at West Penn with these providers, residents, and their amazing staff.
